John Bermingham

John Bermingham was a founding director of Sea Sky Express Ltd International Freight Forwarding Firm. He held senior positions with Expeditors Ireland between 1997 – 2005 including Country Manager / Joint Managing director Expeditors Ireland Ltd. Between 2005 – 2007 John was Director of Expeditors Road Freight Product for Europe/South Africa. John is a former IIFA Council Member and a former treasurer of the Association. Most recently John was President of the Irish Air Cargo Institute during the period 2011 – 2012.




William Cress

Congress Programme

William Cress has been the International Director for DMF International Limited for the last 13 years. DMF International is a Dublin based International Freight Forwarding and Customs Brokerage firm. In the late 80’s & early 90’s he worked as a Management Consultant & Lobbyist throughout the US. At that time Will specialised in Economic Development and Government Relations with Corporate Services of America. Will also worked in the Motion Picture Industry as an AC & Cameraman for many years. He holds a B.Sc degree in Psychology from Oregon State University in addition to the IIFA FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding.




John Dunne

John commenced his working life in the LCL Department of Ireland’s largest shipping Line, B+I Line (now Irish Ferries) in 1976.

He worked for two years (1981/1982) in a long established Irish national and international haulage company before setting up his own freight forwarding company which he ran for five years.

John joined the rapidly expanding air express industry in 1988 and worked in various roles including Key Account Manager, Operations Manager, Dublin Airport Gateway, Sales Manager and at one stage Global Account Manager based in Brussels where he managed global logistics clients.

Since 2008 John has operated his own freight forwarding and customs clearance agency, Foremost Freight Ltd.




Noel Good

Transport & Social Programme

Noel has worked in all areas of the freight forwarding industry since 1980. As well as owning a successful freight forwarding business, he has held senior positions in a number of large companies. More recently he has become heavily involved in providing IT solutions for both Traders and Forwarders and currently works for a Danish company ClearView Trade Aps providing paperless trade services covering order, invoice, transport and customs solutions as well as a standalone freight booking application.




Greg Lewis

Greg Lewis started his career in international logistics with Irish Express Cargo from 1972 working his way up to Airfreight import manager until as one of the founding partners set up in Sea Sky Express Ltd that ran from 1981before selling to Expeditors International in 1997.

He then went on to become joint Managing Director of Expeditors Ireland until 2010 when he became outright MD until his retirement in 2014.




Ruaidhri Horan

Ruaidhri is a marketing specialist with fifteen years successful brand/marketing management and project management experience in three market leading companies in the business to business sector. With a strong numerate, technical and strategic background, his core competency is lead generation and increasing sales at a low cost through affordable marketing techniques and also through integrating the best of digital marketing, traditional marketing and guerilla marketing techniques.

Committed to continuous skills and educational development, Ruaidhri recently completed the IIFA FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding (Distinction), an EMBA (2:1) and a Special Award In Entrepreneurship (Level 9) (1:1), a Diploma in Digital Marketing (1:1).




Seamus Kavanagh

Seamus Kavanagh joined the Irish International Freight Association in September 2008 to assist the Association with launching its FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding course. Through his time with the IIFA, Seamus developed the course from a classroom situation to a fully online operation utilizing the latest technologies available. Seamus was part of the team which travelled to the 2013 FIATA World Congress in Singapore in order to promote Ireland as the host country for the 2016 FIATA World Congress.

He holds a B.A in History and an M.Sc in Multi-Media.




Paddy Kenny

Treasurer & Marketing of Congress

Paddy Kenny has had long experience in the Airline business as Cargo Sales Manager for Aer Lingus before joining the Forwarding Industry in 1994. Paddy holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from University College, Dublin and is a qualified Accountant. Paddy is a Fellow of the Irish International Freight Association and is also a former Treasurer and Council member. Paddy was part of the team which travelled to the 2013 FIATA World Congress in Singapore in order to promote Ireland as the host country for the 2016 FIATA World Congress.




Karl Louwrens

Marketing of Exhibition and Sponsorship

Karl is Director of Marketing and Business Development in International Airline Marketing Limited (IAM), Ireland’s largest air-cargo General Sales & Service Agent. The lead division in a group of small companies, IAM is involved in air cargo sales, air interline trucking, cargo handling and specialist training. IAM is the exclusive Ireland representative for a number of the world’s largest airlines.

Karl also manages IAM’s interest in Translogic Cool Chain Solutions Ltd (TCCS), an Irish agent for specialist companies who provide protect protection solutions for temperature sensitive and valuable cargo during transit and storage.

Prior to joining IAM in 2005, Karl held a number of senior commercial and administrative roles in the travel industry and in newspapers publishing.

Karl is a graduate of Business Studies and the Marketing Institute of Ireland.




Sean McCool

Sean is a Management Consultant and the Chairman of International Airline Marketing Limited (IAM), a market leading cargo group of companies he established in 1989.

Before setting up IAM, Sean held a variety of Senior Executive roles in well know cargo specialist companies such as Seaboard and Western Airlines Inc, Brinks and Aer Lingus. Sean also established a number of companies in the Shannon Free Zone, including Shanex and South West Trading. In the 1980′s, Sean joined the board of Havelet Holdings and in 1987 he assumed the position of Chairman, Ryanair Executive Jet Terminals.

Sean is founder member of the Irish Air Cargo Institute and the Irish International Freight Association (IIFA). He is also a past VP of the European Confederation of National Freight Forwarders’ Associations (C.L.E.C.A.T). Following his appointment as Honorary Trade Commissioner for Republic of South Africa in Ireland, he established the Ireland South Africa Business Association in 1983.




Gavin Sherwin

Gavin Sherwin is currently the Transport Operations Support Manager with Keelings, a family owned Irish company, being a leading fruit, vegetables & flowers grower & distributor. Having joined Keelings in 2007, Gavin initially worked within the Finance department before moving into the centralised logistics operation 3 years ago, supporting the department in all functions such as customs clearance, global freight procurement & national distribution. In addition to the FIATA diploma, he is also a holder of the International CPC in Road Haulage Operations as well as being a qualified Accounting Technician.




Colm Walsh

FIATA Coordinator + Public Relations

Colm Walsh worked with LEP Transport in the 1960s through both Irish and German offices before co-founding Irish freight forwarding firm Walsh Western Ltd where he held the position of Jt. Managing Director with his Brother Larry between 1970 – 1987. He was President of Association for the period 1979 – 1981 when the FIATA World Congress was last held in Dublin (1981).

In the early 1990s Colm Walsh moved to the Publishing field with the Irish Supply Chain Management Services Directory, publishing 23 physical editions before moving fully online in 2011. During the period 2006 – 2014, Colm Walsh held the position of Chief Executive Officer of IIFA and is the Author and Course Leader of IIFA’s FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding (1995).
