The Book of Kells

Another major attraction, which is only a short way from the convention centre is the Book of Kells, which was written in 800AD by Irish monks. The book of Kells is located in Trinity College, Dublin. The Welcome Reception for the 2016 FIATA World Congress will be held in Trinity College on Wednesday 5th October 2016 so why not arrive early and take in this world renowned attraction?

Kilmainham Gaol

Another huge visitor attraction is Kilmainham Gaol, which is the largest unoccupied jail in Ireland or the UK. Many of Ireland’s most famous patriots and politicians spent period s incarceration in this jail between 1796 and 1924, including Robert Emmet, Charles steward Parnell. Kilmainham Gaol is a short taxi ride from Dublin’s Convention Centre (location of the FIATA World Congress 2016).

Dublin Theatre Festival (October 3rd – 8th) – various locations including the Olympia theatre – less than 10 minute taxi ride from the convention centre (on until 16th October)
